Pop Up Canopies – Easy Setup VS A Tube Nightmare

Pop up canopies have simply revolutionized backyard gatherings, tailgating and even camping.  Once these “ez up” or pop up canopies were considered a luxury item and were just not very common.  The standard was an unassembled “tube” type tent or canopy.

Today the pop up canopy is the standard for tailgating and family gatherings outside.  They have become increasingly more common and vastly more affordable.  For example, a 12 x 12 model could start at more that $300 dollars.  Today lower end 10 x10 or 12 x 12 models can be found for well under $100 if you find them on sale.  These lower cost models are not going to last you very many years if you use them regularly.  But if you set them up only a few times per year, they should last you for years to come.

Here is a very important tip that most people don’t think about when they get in a hurry.  When you are storing your canopy in its bag, make sure that it is dry when you fold it up.  This goes for the unassebled type or the instant or pop up styles.  The moisture will simply ruin the canopy material.  It will smell bad and be covered with mold.  If it gets rained on, just be sure to leave it set up until it has time to dry thoroughly.
